Happy New Year! With the calendar rolling over from December to January, the 2025 Wedding Season has officially started.

Newly-engaged couples are often flooded with information as they get into the process of planning a reception. Thankfully, there are a ton of outstanding vendors and venues available, most of whom are happy to help guide couples through everything.

When to Begin Planning for the 2025 Wedding Season
January is a notoriously busy time for wedding venues and vendors. People tend to be with their families a lot around the holidays, and that leads to a lot of wedding brainstorming. Questions come up. Many couples who were engaged the prior year begin to reach out and start locking down vendors.
Lots of couples secure their venue first, and will defer to the venue for recommendations on vendors. Other couples like to look for vendors on their own, while many enjoy the process of attending wedding shows to find the perfect vendors for their reception.
There is no right or wrong answer for when to begin the true planning process. But the earliest months of the year, as winter turns to spring, are the heaviest booking months for most wedding vendors. This is a good time for hosts to get serious about planning.
